The Gonzalez Jazz Local 627 saxophone reed was planned as a Jazz reed from the crop itself. The raw material for this reed is grown and cultivated with specific techniques in our fields that have the natural environmental attributes to achieve a more flexible and vibrant reed. These characteristics are accentuated by the type of cut we gave this reed. This reed's flexible cut gives it a brighter sound and a quicker response.
The Gonzalez Jazz Local 627 saxophone reed honors the name of the Kansas City Musicians Union "Local 627", of which the famous Charlie Parker was a member when he was just 15 years old. In honor of these pioneers of jazz, who revolutionized music by leaving us an amazing legacy, we have put their name on our Jazz line.
